Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment

Providing a path to restored dental health, appearance and functionality.
In some cases, when injury or decay reaches past the protective enamel layer of the tooth, the inner tissues of the tooth may become infected. These inner tissues include the dental pulp and tooth nerves. If these tissues are infected or damaged, they can cause serious tooth pain, increased tooth sensitivity, and other painful symptoms. When left untreated, this type of disease can eventually lead to the death of the tooth and require tooth extraction. In order to avoid these complications and save the tooth, our dental team may recommend root canal treatment.
During root canal treatment, Dr. Mark McCall will remove the infected and damaged tooth nerves, dental pulp, and other tissues from inside the tooth. The tooth is then filled with a medicated material that soothes the infection and restores the tooth’s structural integrity. Finally, we cap and seal the tooth with a dental crown or filling to return the tooth to optimal structure and shape. Our skilled dentist can typically complete a root canal in just one or two visits to our practice. To learn more about the benefits of root canal treatment, and to schedule your next appointment at our office, we invite you to contact us today.
